Describe Yourself:

I'm the front woman of a band called RisingSide that currently consists of just ME and my friend Tony Portwood (lead guitar). We play pretty much any kind of genre we are in the mood for, but with just acoustic guitars. Tony likes to classify us as Acoustic/Ambient/Progressive/Folk-Rock...ahem, thats a mouth full. Hi Katie, No I don't have a myspace or website...yet! I just got back into playing and writing again a few years ago after concentrating on my family. Now it's more my time again. My songs from scatch song was my first venture into Garageband. As soon as I get more recording finished I'll look into putting them up. I'm going to try that open mic at the 318 in Excelsior (www.three-eighteen.com) tomorrow night again. Sign up begins at 6:30, though it's good to get there around 6:00 and music starts at 7:00 and goes til 10:00ish. Everyone gets 15 minutes or 3 songs. Matt Muller is the emcee. Bring Tony and your guitars and come on out if you can! It's west on Highway 7. There's a map on the website. Hope to meet you there!

Hi Katie, Thanks for listening to my song. I'm glad you liked it. Yours was awesome. I love your voice. I see you're from the Cities too. Do you play out much? I started doing open mic night at the 318 in Excelsior--first Wed. of the month. Very receptive audience and nice musicians.
